Formerly the Haxby village post office, this thoughtfully restored cottage blends historic character with contemporary comfort, creating a wonderful base for couples or a family to discover York and the wider Yorkshire countryside.

Inside, period charm sits effortlessly alongside stylish modern touches. Original beams hint at the building's past, while carefully chosen furnishings create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The kitchen/diner forms the heart of the home, with ample room for preparing everything from leisurely breakfasts to hearty evening meals. Gather around the dining table to share food, plan the next day's adventures or settle in for a family board game. After a day exploring, retreat to the inviting lounge, where a generous L-shaped sofa creates a relaxing spot to catch up on favourite films and series on the Smart TV. French doors open directly onto the courtyard, allowing fresh air and sunshine to flow inside during warmer months. A gleaming shower room completes the ground floor, while upstairs you'll find a second shower room alongside two beautifully presented double bedrooms, each designed with comfort in mind. Outside, the enclosed courtyard garden is a lovely setting for morning coffee, al fresco lunches or a sun-downer as the evening draws in. Private off-road parking is available for one car, with additional roadside parking nearby, subject to availability.

4 miles from York's vibrant centre, guests are well placed to explore attractions including the city's ancient walls, magnificent Minster, fascinating museums, and the renowned Jorvik Viking Centre. Spend afternoons browsing independent boutiques and high-street favourites, wandering the atmospheric Shambles, or sampling the city's thriving food scene. Beyond York, the rolling landscapes of the Howardian Hills and the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors make memorable destinations for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Fantastic stay in Haxby! Great location for visiting York, with a bus stop right across the road. The Old Post Office was spotless, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches. Our 8yearold loved having Haxby Park right next door. Friendly area, handy shops, and even a good local pub for the football. Wed happily stay again!
