Set within the charming village of Naburn, this handsome stone-built retreat combines countryside tranquillity with easy access to York's many attractions. Ideal for a gathering of friends or family, the house blends historic character with contemporary comfort, complete with a wood burner and stylishly landscaped private garden.

Inside, a welcoming entrance hall sets the tone with a baby grand piano and a pair of comfortable chairs. Just off the hallway is a useful cloakroom and utility room. A cosy snug sits nearby, centred around a fireplace. The elegant sitting room features velvet sofas, oak flooring and a beautiful fireplace. A Smart TV is discreetly positioned for film nights. At the rear of the property, the striking kitchen extension creates a fantastic social hub. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold glass doors frame the garden and patio, filling the room with natural light. A polished concrete island houses a Bora hob and extractor, while two ovens cater for every occasion. A concealed pantry adds practicality, and the walnut dining table comfortably seats eight for memorable meals. Upstairs, the master bedroom combines French-inspired styling with a king-size bed and an en-suite featuring both a shower and a deep bathtub. A second king-size bedroom benefits from direct access to the main bathroom. The third bedroom is furnished with a double sleigh bed, while the fourth is a fun-filled bunk room with a jungle theme. A family bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower completes the accommodation. Outside, a lawn, patio area, outdoor furniture and BBQ make dining outdoors a pleasure, while children can play freely on the enclosed grounds. A secure gated driveway has parking for up to four cars.

Spend leisurely afternoons beside the River Ouse, stop for coffee at the marina cafe with its riverside outlook, or visit the local pub for a bite to eat. The marina and slipway make it easy to launch a paddleboard or kayak, while a designer outlet a mile away is home to a wide range of shops and a convenient park-and-ride service into York for more shops and restaurants. During the summer months, boat trips travel from the marina into the city centre, and walkers and cyclists can join the nearby Sustrans route.

Overall, the cottage is a lovely base for a family holiday. The kitchen is ultra modern and hi-tech and the communal areas are comfortable and spacious. The garden and patio are perfect for summer days and evenings and the forecourt parking for two cars is helpful. The electric "baby grand" piano is great for pianists. The internet for the TV was Read morepoor/intermittent for watching Netflix/iPlayer films. The internet hub is in the games cupboard. Some of the cooking pots and pans needed a clean. It was unclear what or when the refuse collection procedure was. The ensuite toilet seat needed tightening up. Hide

Our family group of five adults and three children under 7 years loved the garden and huge kitchen/seating area. The children's play room was full of lovely books and toys. Safe pathways to walk around the village and to local walking trails, and even a small local play park. Easy access to York.

A beautiful light, comfy and well equipped house. Local Pub within 100 metres and Marina restaurant facilities a short walk. Good base with good transport links into York centre. Great dog walking options nearby. Would highly recommend.
