This idyllic lodge enjoys an elevated position amongst the treetops of a small woodland in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sleeping four guests, the detached property is perfect for couples and groups of friends looking to escape the humdrum of everyday life. You’ll find numerous walking trails directly from your front door, including along the pretty River Nidd, or throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park. For shopping and eating out, the thriving spa town of Harrogate is just 14 miles away.

The traditional stone property has a rustic, country-cottage style with exposed brickwork, pretty accessories, and homely touches throughout. On the ground floor is a cosy lounge to relax in after a long walk, with sumptuous sofas set around a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect electric fire. From here, move through to the contemporary kitchen/diner, which has everything you need for a self-catering holiday and a farmhouse-style table for sharing mealtimes together. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await, both with tasteful decor and en-suite facilities. Outside, the pretty cottage garden has a decked area with furniture, so you can dine alfresco in summer months and watch the local wildlife in the surrounding trees.

The chocolate-box town of Pateley Bridge is just 0.5 miles away, and has some delightful eateries serving local produce as well as quaint local shops. It’s also the starting point for the long-distance Nidderdale Way walking trail. The town is perfectly placed for exploring the popular Yorkshire Dales beauty spots of Fountains Abbey (9 miles) and Malham Cove (23 miles). The attractive town of Harrogate makes a lovely day trip, with a myriad of high-end shops and eateries to peruse. The town is also renowned for its famous healing waters, and you’ll find several spas, including the original Turkish Baths, within the town.

We had a wonderful stay at Harefield Lodge. Its such a cosy, peaceful place the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Everything was spotlessly clean, very well equipped, and the beds were incredibly comfortable truly a home away from home. Even with a few rain showers, we managed to enjoy some beautiful walks around the area. We've stayed in many coRead morettages over the years, and without a doubt, this one is the best.
