Heritage features have been sympathetically maintained in this handsome country cottage; a characterful holiday destination situated deep in the North York Moors walking territory. Surrounded by rolling fields of heather, wild moors and splendid beauty spots, you can look forward to hiking, biking and touring the bucolic haven of this national park, all before coming home to get cosy and comfortable in this ancient farmhouse. Despite its age and character, this property has been thoughtfully modernised to offer stylish and comfortable interiors for up to six guests, making it an exceptional choice for any family getaway.

Head inside and reach the social heart of the house in the generous kitchen/diner, a space with a feature Victorian cast iron range cooker sitting beside modern kitchen equipment and a dining table with space for six. Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor is a delight after long outdoor adventures while the wood burner in the lounge creates the cosiest atmosphere for movie nights in front of the Smart TV. Find an additional TV in each of the three bedrooms upstairs, inviting guests to enjoy lazy mornings under the covers. Served by two family bathrooms, the bedrooms include a king-size room, a welcoming double and a cosy twin. Outside, a splendid garden with a lawn and patio space completes the property’s impressive offering.

Truly rural, the property is in an undisturbed hamlet with a country pub and endless walking routes around it, including a local daffodil trail that comes alive in the springtime. To find livelier surroundings, head 8 miles to the local town of Kirkbymoorside. This market town is a Yorkshire beauty spot with ancient buildings, overflowing antique shops and local businesses to peruse. A little outside of town, visit Pickering to embark on the classic steam train route of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (15 miles).

It was a perfect break away with stunning views in an isolated quiet area. Time out from the hustle and bustle, totally off the grid, with family and the kids. Beautifully decorated with great walks on the doorstep. Beds comfortable and cottage immaculate with a lovely welcome package to greet us. Pub across the way, 10m served incredible food and Read moreso welcoming. Would highly recommend this if youre looking to get away from it all and wind down. Thank you for a wonderful break Hide

Clean, comfortable, stylish cottage in a lovely quiet hamlet. Having a pub just across the road was a real plus for catering with the option of dining in or taking away food to eat in the cottage. Fabulous cottage in a great location, not just because it's about 20 yds from the pub! Very clean and well equipped with high standard of facilities and the welcome pack was much appreciated.
