Join friends and family in this delightful apartment for four in the centre of Whitby. The property is perfectly placed for days at the beach, with the popular West Cliff Beach just 0.3 miles away. There are some charming towns and villages dotted along the Yorkshire coastline, including Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay, and Scarborough (all within 20 miles), which make fabulous day trips. In the evenings, unwind with a glass of wine on your private balcony.

After parking in a secure gated parking space to the rear of the building, stairs or a lift lead you to this first floor apartment. Inside, the home-away-from-home has a contemporary style and an open-plan, sociable layout. After a day at the beach, rustle up a tasty supper in the sleek kitchen area to enjoy together at the wooden dining table. After dinner, sink into the sumptuous sofa to watch TV or read a book. When it’s time for bed, choose from a tasteful king-size bedroom or a cosy twin. A family bathroom completes the accommodation. From the lounge, French doors open onto a sweet balcony, where you can sip a sundowner and admire the distant views of Whitby Abbey.

Whitby’s family-friendly West Cliff Beach is close by, and has a long stretch of golden sand and shallow waters for bathing. A row of colourful beach huts lines the beach, and can be hired during summer months. There are some lovely walks from here, including to the nearby fishing village of Sandsend (2 miles). Across the estuary, via the iconic swing bridge, is Whitby’s old town, with its characterful, red-roofed cottages and narrow, cobbled streets. With many boutiques and galleries, it’s a great place for picking up little souvenirs. From here, you can climb the 199 steps to visit the ruins of Whitby Abbey, said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

We really enjoyed our stay in your apartment at union mill very central to places we wanted to visit. Very comfortable and quiet and including everything you would need to be self sufficient. As eager walkers there was many routes to follow in and around Whitby and many more further afield , we were pleased to also find bus stop outside of the premRead moreises this we used almost daily enabling us to change up where we might start or finish our walks. A must is the coast path to Robinhoods Bay and back along the cinder track lots to see .. steam train to Pickering was also exceptional. Hide
