The cottage itself was really nice and situated in a really good area. It was cosy and the walled front garden was great and secure for the dogs.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet, rural location but only five minutes from the main road so easy to get to places to visit. Well equipped and comfortable, with tasteful decor. Lots of books to read and board games to play. Appreciated the leaflets and maps and the book of North Yorkshire walks - used that one a few times.

While the property is in a nice quiet village and on the face of it looks to be in good condition there are some elements of the property that need some attention in terms of maintenance and repair.

Lovely little cottage in a very tranquil area with many quirky features. Clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. The bed was super comfy and the bath was lush. Enjoyed the nearby walks of which there were a few to choose from. The locals were really friendly. Only negative was the back garden could do with a tidy up.

Lilac Cottage is idyllic. Beautiful quaint cottage in a small village which was perfect. The cottage had a lot of character and history. The surrounding countryside was great for dog walks. Local farm shops had everything you needed, pricey but worth it. My husband and I will definitely be staying again.
