Located in the picture-perfect village of Bainbridge, this classic Dales cottage has been tastefully and sympathetically finished to a high standard, blending traditional character with modern comfort. Overlooking the village green at the front and the River Bain at the back, the cottage sleeps three guests across two bedrooms and is just 4 miles from Hawes and 12.5 miles from Leyburn. Bainbridge itself has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a friendly pub, tea room, renowned butchers, village shop and garage. Neighbouring village Askrigg is only 1 mile away, and offers three excellent pub restaurants, a tea room and shop. Hawes is perfect for pottering around the shops, touring the famous Wensleydale Creamery, and visiting the Dales Countryside Museum. The beautiful waterfalls of Hardraw Force and Cotter Force are 1.5 mile and 2 miles from Hawes. Aysgarth Falls (6 miles away) is a spectacular sight, and has appeared as a backdrop in many TV programmes and movies.
Turn away from the incredible scenery to step into the enticing, terraced, stone cottage. Leave your jackets and walking boots in the small porch, admire the gorgeous stained glass and amble on into the lounge, which has a characterful exposed stone wall. Toss a few logs into the wood burner before switching on the Smart TV or setting up a game on the coffee table. Alternatively, simply sink back into a comfortable seat and gaze out at the greenery, perfect for relaxing after a day out. Beyond the lounge is the kitchen/diner, a modern space with everything you need to prepare and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, including a drop-leaf table to gather round at mealtimes and where you can open the door onto the extensive, tiered garden. Downstairs you’ll also find the family shower room, complete with a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail and ambient lighting for a spa-like feel. Upstairs are two cottage-style bedrooms: a double with ample storage and a newly installed en-suite WC, and a second cosy bedroom with a small double bed.
Choose where to relax with your morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening drinks and where to enjoy al fresco dining out in the garden on fine days. There are two seating areas, both offering stunning views of the River Bain and a small BBQ for outdoor cooking during the warmer days and a brazier to keep you warm when the sun goes down, all while listening to the river flow by. The outbuildings house everything you need to enjoy the seating areas while still providing sufficient storage space for bikes and outdoor gear. On-street parking is available outside the cottage (unallocated), and there is usually ample space.
