The picturesque market town of Hawes (4 miles) is worth a holiday wander in its own right but also offers the Wensleydale Creamery, plus the Dales Countryside Museum is in the former Victorian railway station. There’s stunning walking aplenty or, for something more unusual, you can visit the waterfalls at Hardraw Force (5 miles), Cotter Force (6 miles) and the impressive Aysgarth Falls (6 miles).
