This pretty house is in an amazing location close to the coast and just 1 mile from the nearest beach, with plenty of space for a group of five friends or family in three bedrooms, along with two four-legged guests. It makes a perfect retreat with gorgeous sea views, an enclosed garden, bike storage, and a cosy wood burner, and is perfectly placed for clifftop walks and exploring the area.

The cosy cottage has been designed around guests’ needs to ensure a comfortable stay. There’s a good-sized kitchen with everything you need for cooking meals and a spacious dining area next to French doors to the garden. There’s also a downstairs cloakroom and upstairs are the three bedrooms and a lovely, bright family bathroom: a pretty king-size room, a king (or twin), and a cute single, all have good storage for your holiday gear and gorgeous sea views. Heading outside, there’s a gated garden at the front and an enclosed rear garden where you can enjoy drinks and dinner al fresco and store your bikes in the shed.

Visit the nearby hotel and village pubs (from less than 500 metres away) for a drink or tasty meal. Ravenscar sits within the North York Moors, a beautiful wilderness waiting to be discovered on foot or by bike. Walk to Robin Hood’s Bay (3.5 miles) through beautiful coastal and moorland scenery on the Cleveland Way. Have a day out in Whitby (14 miles) pottering around the gothic streets and walking up the 199 Steps to the Abbey and go and discover the harbour and castle in Scarborough (10.5 miles).

Moraine is in a stunning location with amazing walks literally from the doorstep. We had a truly wonderful holiday and were lucky enough to enjoy fabulous weather for our entire stay. The cottage itself was comfortable, with everything you need provided (apart from towels, so remember to pack your own!) The garden was very pretty and perfectly safe for our adventurous doggie to play in. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moraine and would love to go back to Ravenscar ourselves in the future. Hide

Excellent welcome pack with lots of information and clear instructions how to use fire and cooker. Excellent cafe 1/2 mile away. Shops are 2-3 miles as the crow flies but closer to 10 by road. That was the only downside of a brilliant stay.

Lovely views of ROBIN HOODS BAY from upstairs, and nearby RAVENSCAR STATION tearooms is highly recommended. Nearby Nat Trust tearoom not so good, with plastic sandwiches, unlike the Station tearooms, where they're made on spot. Often not possible to park out front as vans from opposite [seems to be a transport business] park on road, even when yoRead moreu're already parked. This causes traffic pinch point. We found WHITBY much more pleasant to SCARBOROUGH, which is a bit tatty; bonus is WHITBY has very low petrol prices [136.7 in June 24]. So many good views of Robin Hoods Bay from multitude of local tracks, which are ideal for dog walking. Hide

Loved our stay in Ravenscar, what a beautiful place. The cottage was lovely, home from home. It had everything you could need, the kitchen had everything you would need to make a meal. The information left for everything was brilliant and all details on the accommodation, area, places to eat and walks was so useful. The log burner was lovely on a cRead moreold evening. The beds were super comfortable, I would love to know where the mattress is from in the main bedroom as we're just going to buy a new one. We had lovely walks to Robin Hood's Bay, the radar station, and to see the seals. Situated well to visit Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough, Whitby, Saltburn on sea, Staiths and Rushwick Bay. Would definitely visit again. Hide
