This welcoming cottage sits in the heart of the picturesque Lancashire village of Barrowford, promising a welcoming retreat for couples or small families who love to explore the great outdoors before returning home to bask in the warmth of the cosy living room fire.

Set above a shop and accessed by a short flight of external stone steps, the cottage is full of original charm. Enter into the country-style kitchen/diner, where whitewashed stone walls, beamed ceilings and deep-set windows create a warm and homely atmosphere. Prepare delicious meals with local produce and gather at the farmhouse table to share relaxed mealtimes. After a day of discovery, settle into the lounge with its exposed beams and traditional stone fireplace, where a coal-effect gas fire now sits. Upstairs, two beautifully presented bedrooms offer peaceful places to rest, each with thoughtful finishing touches and soft, comfortable linens. A contemporary bathroom completes the accommodation. While the cottage does not include an outdoor area, there are plenty of scenic walks right from the doorstep, including a heritage trail as well as lovely parks and green spaces around the village. On-street parking is available nearby, subject to availability.

Barrowford itself is full of character, with historic buildings, pretty stone cottages, and a friendly high street dotted with independent shops, artisan boutiques, and inviting cafes and pubs. The surrounding countryside is a delight for walkers and cyclists, with scenic routes including the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal close by. Venture 3 miles west to discover the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, where you can climb Pendle Hill, wander the Pendle Sculpture Trail, or enjoy a waterside stroll around the Black Moss Reservoirs. You’re also well placed for day trips into the Yorkshire Dales, with highlights such as Malham Cove (18 miles) and Bolton Abbey (23 miles) within easy reach.
