In the heart of North Yorkshire’s stunning countryside, it’s a haven for anyone looking for cosy charm and a welcoming atmosphere after a day of walking, cycling and getting close to nature.

Discover an inviting home full of historic features, including wooden beams, original fireplaces and ledge-and-brace doors. You can completely unwind in the cosy lounge, with its comfortable seating, wood burner and Smart TV. From here, there’s one step up into the kitchen/diner, in which modern appliances complement an antique dining table. A short corridor accessed by three steps leads to a utility area, with a washing machine and dishwasher, and the stairs to the first floor. Up here, both double bedrooms are decorated with gorgeous antique furniture – one has a standard double bed, the other has a 4’ wide. A handsome shower room completes this tasteful interior. The back garden is arranged on several levels connected by stone steps. Light the BBQ for a tasty meal in the sunshine, relax by the firepit or head up to the very top of the garden to soak up the serene rural views. Roadside parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you feel like a relaxed drink or don’t fancy cooking, stroll next door to find a community-run pub serving high-quality food and drink. The vibrant market town of Richmond, known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just 2.5 miles away, renowned for its quirky shops, tempting cafes and iconic Norman castle. Head west into the Dales to experience extraordinary, unspoilt, dramatic scenery, filled with spectacular walks and cycling trails. Very sweet cottage, comfortable, clean, complete kitchen, lovely sitting area outside in the back, and everything needed to make a good holiday stay. Though note ... walking up the stairs to the bedrooms ... is very low and a bit tight. But we are two seniors and had no issue. Just watch your head.
