Gaze out over the picturesque greenery of Arkengarthdale from this beautifully finished cottage near Whaw. Set on a working farm, 5.5 miles from Reeth and 17 miles from Richmond, it sits deep within the spectacular Yorkshire Dales within reach of the Pennine Way and Coast-to-Coast Walk. Sleeping four guests, the sumptuous, two-bedroom hideaway features a wood burner and outdoor seating where you can soak up the Yorkshire sunshine and scenery.

The cottage is close to the owner’s home but enjoys great privacy. Sink back into the plump seating in the lounge to watch the Smart TV or a DVD or to listen to music. Relish the warmth of the underfloor heating and enhance it in the chillier months by lighting the wood burner. The kitchen/diner has a bright, airy ambience. Climb the stairs to your enticing bedrooms, a super-king-size and a twin. The twin can also be arranged as a super-king-size if discussed at booking. The gorgeous family bathroom centres round a freestanding bath. Head outside on fine days to admire the moorland from the patios to the front and rear of the house. You can dine out here too. There is private, off-road parking for two cars.

Climb the Stang and enjoy fabulous forest walks, 5.5 miles from the cottage. Visit Bowes Castle, 13 miles away, to see the impressive ruins of King Henry II’s 12th-century keep, which sit on the site of a Roman fort.
