Set in the heart of Richmond, this uniquely styled holiday home is a wonderful base for a memorable escape, whether you're a couple seeking a romantic retreat or a family ready for adventure. Start your day with a visit to Richmond Castle, a Norman fortress with lovely views over the town and River Swale. Afterwards, explore the cobbled marketplace, where you’ll find independent shops, local crafts, and delicious treats. For a scenic stroll, follow the riverbank trails along the River Swale, leading to waterfalls and picnic spots. Richmond sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, making it an ideal location for outdoor lovers. Whether you’re after a gentle countryside wander or a more challenging hike, the Dales’ rolling hills and picturesque landscapes provide a stunning backdrop. Leyburn (9 miles) boasts tempting shops and tearooms, while Hawes (24 miles), home to the famous Wensleydale Creamery, is a must-visit for cheese lovers. Middleham (11 miles), known for its rich horse racing heritage, boasts a castle once home to Richard III.

Step inside to the kitchen/diner, where wicker baskets hang overhead and decorative plates adorn the walls, creating a rustic, homely feel. From here, wander through to the sitting room, a warm and welcoming space with whitewashed beams, stone flag floors, and a crackling wood burner – perfect for curling up with one of the owners collection of books lining the shelves. Upstairs, the cottage has two beautifully furnished bedrooms – a double and a king-size – both offering restful retreats at the end of the day. Each bedroom has its own distinctive style, and there’s even a mirror ball hanging in the corner of the king-size room. A bright and airy bathroom with an electric shower over the bath completes the first floor.

Outside, the enclosed patio is a little oasis, filled with flowers and plants and furnished with a bistro table and chairs under a parasol – perfect place to while away an afternoon or for an evening glass of wine. This quiet cottage is conveniently located in Nuns Close Car Park, where charges apply and like the EV chargers subject to availability.
