A visit to the iconic Whitby Abbey (2 miles away by car) is a must – climb the 199 Steps for a breathtaking view before exploring the atmospheric ruins that inspired the Dracula novel. Back in town, stroll along the cobbled streets of the old quarter for shops, cafes, and fish and chip spots. History lovers can explore the Captain Cook Memorial Museum or can take part in a Ghost Walk. For an aquatic adventure, take a boat trip out to sea to spot seals and dolphins.
