This charming period cottage is a fantastic base for couples and families looking to explore the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. Despite your remote surroundings and 120 acres to explore, you’re just 0.5 miles away from the village of Harmby, which offers hearty pub lunches and leads to the hidden gem of Harmby Waterfall. A drive through the rolling Yorkshire hills brings you to The Forbidden Corner (6 miles), a quirky labyrinth of tunnels, follies, and wildlife-filled Tupgill Park, perfect for an unforgettable day out. Aysgarth Falls (9.5 miles) is a must-see, with its spectacular cascading waterfalls and scenic riverside walks. History enthusiasts will be in awe at Bolton Castle (8 miles), a striking medieval fortress where Mary, Queen of Scots, was once imprisoned. For breathtaking landscapes, the Nidderdale National Landscape (20 miles) offers endless walking trails and rolling pastoral scenes, making it the perfect place to explore on foot.

This chocolate-box cottage is full of characterful touches. From the front, step into the spacious entrance hall and whip off your walking boots and coats. The traditional country-style kitchen features ample storage and appliances and you can gather around the four-seater dining table for a tasty Yorkshire dish. After a day of outdoorsy activities, step down into the cosy sitting room and sip hot cocoa by the flickering wood burner. The antique furniture and comfortable seating make it the perfect backdrop for a movie night. Upstairs, the double and twin bedrooms offer a welcoming space to slumber, while the two en-suite shower rooms provide ultimate privacy for couples.

Outside, there are spectacular far-reaching countryside views and beyond. These can be enjoyed from your patio with seating. Feel free to explore the 120 acres of farmland or venture down to the 1.5-mile-long river, where families can picnic or perhaps follow the footpaths through the dales. On the farm, there is a range of animals including sheep, cats, chickens and guinea fowl. Please feel free to roam and see the animals. There is allocated parking for two cars outside the property.
