  • Light the large and cosy wood burner after long walks across Ilkley Moor
Property code: OC-T30809

Set on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, this charming stone cottage offers space, light, and sophisticated decor for an unforgettable family holiday. Accommodating up to eight guests, this grand 17th-century farmhouse is the perfect base for those seeking peace, tranquillity, and outdoor adventure. The remote location, surrounded by three neighbouring holiday cottages, provides stunning, uninterrupted views of Ilkley Moor and the rolling hills. Ilkley itself is just 5 miles away, with Skipton (10.5 miles) and Otley (8 miles) nearby, offering charming towns to explore.

Beamed rooms, stone-flagged floors, and impressive farmhouse features enhance the cottage’s character, with decor thoughtfully chosen to highlight the property’s natural beauty. Downstairs, the lounge and kitchen/diner are separate yet connected, offering two distinct spaces for relaxation and socialisation. Chesterfield sofas and armchairs face a wood burner and Smart TV in the living room, a perfect spot to unwind after a hearty meal in the adjacent dining area. An additional snug with a sofa bed, a utility room, and a bathroom complete the ground floor. Upstairs, you’ll find four spacious bedrooms, one of which is a king-size with an en-suite. The other three rooms feature zip-and-link beds and share a family bathroom. Outside, an enclosed garden provides a peaceful space to enjoy a morning coffee or evening sundowner while taking in the breathtaking views. There is parking available for multiple cars.

The property is on the edge of East Morton (0.5 miles), a small village just outside Keighley (3.5 miles). Keighley is home to the fabulous Cliffe Castle, an independent cinema, and a train station that connects you to Skipton and the city of Leeds further afield (15.5 miles). Nearby, head to Bingley to admire the impressive engineering of the canal’s Five Rise Locks (2.5 miles), or visit the nearby village of Saltaire (5 miles) to learn about the rich industrial history of Salts Mill, now a beloved art gallery.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Well equipped with everything you could need. The freshwater pool was an added bonus but there is an extra charge for this which we were not aware of until after we had used it.
