Nestled in a charming village on the northern, coastal fringes of the North York Moors National Park, this mid-terrace cottage offers the perfect holiday base to couples and small families. The village has two pubs, a fish and chip shop, butchers/provisions, hairdressers anda cafe. A local bus runs regularly through the village to Sandsend, Whitby and Saltburn. You’ll want to explore the wonderful fishing village of Staithes (1 mile). Further afield, spend leisurely days enjoying the delights of the traditional seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-sea (10 miles), with its iconic Victorian pier and working arcade. Take photos of your group in front of the candy-coloured beach huts or ride the Saltburn Cliff Tramway. For more memorable days by the sea, head to the historic town of Whitby (16 miles) to uncover the remains of Whitby Abbey, climb the famous 199 Steps, and explore the towns buzzing streets. Along this coastline, walkers will love striding out along the Cleveland Way National Trail, which passes half a mile from the property.
After a day spent exploring the Yorkshire coast and countryside, enter the cottage and walk into the attractive lounge. Sink into the inviting seating here, planning the next day’s itinerary or catching up on your favourites shows on the Smart TV. When stomachs begin to rumble, walk through to the well-appointed kitchen/diner and find all you need to cook up Yorkshire feasts for your loved ones. At the end of each busy day away, head up to the first floor of the cottage and uncover two restful bedrooms, both of which offer calming decor and plenty of storage space. Choose between a master double bedroom and a cosy twin room, both of which are served by a well-equipped, spacious family shower room.
Outside, to the rear of the cottage, a small, gravelled area with outdoor seating beckons quiet morning coffees and evening tipples. Parking is on-street around the property, subject to availability.
