Nestled in West Yorkshire, near the fringes of the Peak District National Park, this quaint and quirky converted farmhouse offers sumptuous accommodation to families and groups of friends. The property is surrounded by 25 acres of land where you’ll see alpacas, donkeys, ponies and more. In the village, just 1 mile away, you’ll find shops, pubs and a selection of cafes, restaurants and takeaways, while the vibrant town of Huddersfield is only 2 miles away. Visit the pretty town of Holmfirth, 5 miles, home of long-running TV series Last of the Summer Wine, the hidden gem of Slaithwaite, 6 miles, or the market town of Hebden Bridge, 15.5 miles. Lovers of the outdoors will want to see the natural wonder of Folly Dolly Falls in Meltham, 6 miles, scenic Butterley Reservoir, 9 miles, or simply head into the Peak District for scenic walks with fabulous views.
A warm and welcoming retreat, the detached farmhouse dates back 250 years and has a relaxed, rustic style, with lots of soft lighting and decorative accessories. Sink into the sofas in either the lounge or the snug, both of which have a Smart TV and a wood burner in a beautiful fireplace. The lounge also features a traditional clothes pulley and tiled flooring. The spacious kitchen/diner runs the full length of the house and is equipped with everything the cook will need, plus a table that comfortably seats six people. Also on this floor is a small utility room with dog beds – ideal if you need to leave your canine companions behind while you pop out. The three sumptuous double bedrooms are upstairs, the largest boasting a vaulted, beamed ceiling and a built-in wardrobe. A well-appointed family bathroom serves the bedrooms and completes the interior.
For an inside/outside dining experience, there’s a covered dining area with mood lighting and shutters that overlook the farmyard. Or enjoy the sunshine on the patio, which has a BBQ, outdoor furniture, lighting and a heater, with beautiful views over the fields, and of the alpacas popping in and out of their shed. A few steps down, there’s a small lawned area with a picnic bench. While staying here you’re likely to see a variety of farm animals including Alpacas, donkeys, Shetland ponies, pigs, continental giant rabbits, cats and the owners’ dogs (which are never loose on the farm). This property has ample private parking.
