Immerse yourselves in the magnificent North Pennines, when you stay at this delightful stone cottage on a 50-acre working sheep farm. Make sure your four-legged friends don’t miss out on all the fun of the two-bedroom retreat, which comes with some amazing facilities for your furry chums. Sleeping four guests, the welcoming retreat is 0.5 miles from Eggleston and 6.5 miles from Barnard Castle and captures beautiful views out over the rolling countryside.

Shuffle off your walking boots and take your happy hound into the doggy shower room to rinse his muddy paws, then unwind together in the welcoming, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Light the wood burner in the stone inglenook fireplace on chilly autumn and winter days before sinking back into the leather sofas to savour its cosy glow. Enjoy the fabulous surrounding views from here or peruse your options on the Smart TV. The kitchen area has been designed to help you cater for your party with ease during your stay and there is a table beside the window where you can enjoy long, lazy meals together. Also downstairs is a handy WC. The bedrooms, which have sloped, cottage-style ceilings and exposed beams, are on the top floor of the holiday home, together with the family bathroom. The double bedroom has glass doors to a Juliet balcony, with far-reaching views, and the characterful twin room features exposed stonework. The enclosed gravel garden is a great place to relax in the sunshine. Your pets will also adore bounding in the six-acre paddock and perhaps attempting a round or two of the dog agility area, for an additional charge. There is ample private parking.

Head out from the doorstep on long walks through picturesque Teesdale. See the impressive High Force Waterfall, 9 miles away, or explore the medieval castle ruins at Barnard Castle.

The cottage was comfortable, had a fire on a couple of evenings which made it feel very homely, owners were very friendly and helpful. A great place for us to get away from normal daily life. Our cocker spaniel loved the field, and the views were fantastic.
