A lovely 17th-century house in the heart of the glorious Yorkshire Dales National Park is perfect for families or friends who want to share a holiday or special celebration. Sleeping ten guests, the spacious property is set in bustling Grassington, a delightful small town with narrow, cobbled streets, picturesque stone cottages and a clutch of shops, cafes and pubs, as well as a regular farmers market. From energetic hikes across the beautiful rolling fells to a gentle stroll along the River Wharfe, this is a wonderful country for walkers to explore.

This bright and welcoming period property is full of character, with original beams throughout and stone floors, both with underfloor heating. The large lounge is a peaceful haven with ample comfortable seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV. A cosy snug has an open feature fire place and the pretty, country-style kitchen/diner is fully equipped for whipping up tasty meals. A utility room and WC complete the ground floor. Upstairs, discover two family bathrooms and five charming bedrooms across two floors. These comprise a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, one king-size, one double and two twins, one with a low, sloping ceiling. Outside, three steps down lead to a secluded garden, with a large lawn, several patios, outdoor furniture and a BBQ.

Grassington has a national park visitor centre, and from here you can catch a bus that runs past charming villages such as Rylstone and Kettlewell. A 0.5-mile walk from the centre brings you to the beautiful River Wharfe and tumbling Linton Falls. Other landmark Dales attractions, including Bolton Abbey and Malham Cove, are within 12 miles, while lively Skipton (9 miles) has lots to enjoy. A well-preserved, 900-year-old castle sits at the top of the town, and colourful street markets operate four days a week. Ellesmere House is a gorgeous house with lots of period features. It is well presented, with a well equipped kitchen, and we found it very comfortable. It is located a stones throw from the centre of Grassington down a little lane and has an attractive private garden which was great to sit out in when the sun was shining. A lovely welcome basket waRead mores waiting for us when we arrived which was a really nice touch. The owner was also kind enough to help when we left something behind. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this property- wed love to come back one day. Hide

Fabulous location, very quiet. Private & secure garden. Exceptionally clean & homely. Kitchen well equipped. The owners contacted us prior to our stay & when that happens you know the house will be good. Mikaela also helped when we left out coats behind. Don't hesitate, just book.
