Set in the village of Embsay on the edge of Lower Wharfedale, this terraced cottage offers an elegant and cosy base for exploring the southern Dales. Beautifully renovated in a luxurious old-meets-new style, this two-bedroom cottage welcomes couples, families and small groups along with two happy hounds. Located 2 miles north of Skipton, this is a dream destination for outdoor enthusiasts with a wealth of cultural and historic attractions to keep the entire family entertained.

Perched in an elevated spot set back from the main road, this traditional terraced cottage has been reimagined with comfort and style in mind. Featuring atmospheric dark walls, period-style furniture, and a stone fireplace with a wood burner, the lounge is a haven of relaxation. When tummies start to rumble, head to the well-appointed kitchen to rustle up some family favourites before settling around the dining table for leisurely mealtimes. Upstairs, two warm and welcoming bedrooms invite you for a peaceful slumber at the end of each day. Choose between a king-size and a double, which share use of the family bathroom. A small office on the first floor also has a sofa bed suitable for a child. Outside, a rear patio provides a tranquil spot to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipples and includes garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Parking is on-street and subject to availability.

Lace up your walking boots and set out to explore Embsay Moor and Reservoir on foot or hop on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey heritage railway to glide through picturesque countryside. Skipton (2 miles) has a rich culture and heritage with a 900-year-old castle, cobbled high street, and a wealth of independent shops and eateries. The natural attraction of Malham Cove is just 13 miles away.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 double, additional fold out futon bed in the office suitable for a child only

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jackdaw Cottage, a perfect base for exploring Yorkshire. Incredibly well equipped and comfortable. Clean and well ordered the space felt homely and cosy, with a very comfy bed. We were always able to get parked nearby and the wee paper shop and milk shed opposite were really useful. Great cottage with everything we required to enjoy our stay and holiday in the Dales everything is well presented and cleanliness is second to none great for walks and visiting places of intrest within the Dales. Would also reccomend The Royal Shepherd for food down by the canal in Skipton as reasonably priced and if you want a little something more special for food try The Cock and Bottle or the Woolly Sheep in Skipton.
