Escape to the coastal fringe of the North York Moors and enjoy a relaxing, rural retreat in this quirky barn conversion. Conveniently located between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, this characterful stone cottage sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and welcomes one canine companion. Set amid a small cluster of farm buildings now converted to holiday accommodation, this warm and welcoming property benefits from an open-plan living area and a bistro table and chairs on a small patio.

Laid out over a single storey, this property oozes rustic charm with wood panelling and vaulted, beamed ceilings. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is homely and welcoming. Fill the space with laughter and chatter as you relax on sofas to watch TV or chat about your holiday plans. When tummies start to rumble, rustle up home-cooked delights in the country-style kitchen before gathering around the dining table, or dining alfresco when the weather permits. Two bedrooms invite restful nights; choose between a double with an en suite and a king-size with access to the patio, which has use of the family bathroom. The property benefits from ample off-street parking.

A heritage steam railway takes you deep into the national park to the market town of Pickering, while Robin Hood’s Bay is a picturesque spot for a day at the beach. The area is a delight for walkers and cyclists, with everything from coastal trails to windswept moorland to explore.

The cottage is in an excellent position if you wish to do circular walks to Whitby and Robin Hoods bay using the cinder track and the coastal paths. There were 3 of us staying and it suited us well however if 4 people staying the living area would be a little cramped. However there are 3 TVs so plenty options if people want to watch different thiRead morengs. Hide

Excellent cottage finished to a great standard. Kev was great throughout and on hand with any queries. Fantastic location to explore the local area. Thoroughly recommend this cottage. No real issues with the noise of the roads as mentioned by previous guests, however, for any light sleepers, Im sure a set of ear plugs would easily do the trick.

Not the owners fault but far too close to the main road which never stops, add that to the ticking heating system and a good nights sleep you won't get. Everything else was spot on. My recommendation is a yes as the heating and cleaner etc can be rectified. As for the road???

What a great location. The cottage itself was perfect. My son is disabled so having the whole of the accommodation on the ground floor was so helpful. It was very comfortable.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped and is in a great location close to Whitby. It wasnt made clear in the information that the dog exercise area was not directly outside the cottage. If you dont live by a busy road you may find the road noise very loud.

Myself and my wife (and our dog) really enjoyed our stay in Sea view cottage. Our son who joined us on the Thursday also enjoyed his short stay. The welcome pack was lovely and we were sorry we missed you when it was delivered. The location was brilliant for Whitby and surrounding areas. We will return Thank you Robert

The accommodation was lovely. A beautifully converted barn. Very comfortable beds! The location was good for us, a quiet spot near Whitby, close enough to enjoy the facilities there but away from the crowds. Great for exploring the surrounding area too.
