This charmingly renovated farmhouse is an ideal escape for couples or families, boasting three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The family-friendly beach at Robin Hood’s Bay, a picturesque fishing village with a choice of shops and eateries, is just 4 miles away. Visit Whitby (4.5 miles) in the opposite direction, where you’ll find a spectacular ruined abbey (climb the 199 steps for jaw-dropping views), great shops and restaurants, another sandy beach and a golf club. From here there’s also a heritage train that puffs through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to the vibrant market town of Pickering. There’s an enormous choice of outdoor activities around this area, from walking and cycling in the stunning North York Moors National Park to whale-watching cruises from Whitby Harbour and exploring the waterfall at Falling Foss (3.5 miles).
Leave your coats and boots in the porch and step into the kitchen/diner, a bright space that’s kitted out with everything you’ll need for conjuring up delicious holiday meals, as well as a lovely vintage wooden dining table. The lounge has been designed for comfort and has seating gathered around a brick fireplace with a feature wood burner. The room is flooded with light, thanks to glazed doors that lead to the front garden, but if you feel like snuggling up you can draw the curtains and stream a movie on the TV. All three tastefully styled bedrooms are upstairs, each with a TV and open hanging space with drawers below. One of the double bedrooms benefits from an en-suite shower room, while the other two bedrooms share a refreshing family bathroom.
At the front of the cottage, the large patio area has a bistro set where you can sip your morning cuppa or pour a sundowner while you appreciate the fresh air and gorgeous countryside views. There is allocated parking to the front of the property.
