Tucked in the village of Stainsacre on the edge of the North York Moors, this delightful cottage is perfectly placed to explore the Yorkshire coast and countryside. Welcoming three guests in two double bedrooms, this dog-friendly cottage overlooks paddocks with distant views of the moors yet is just 2 miles from the seaside town of Whitby. After days exploring gothic abbeys and enjoying peaceful moorland walks, this is the ideal place to rest and recharge.

Located in a small terrace set back from the road, this is a cosy and beautifully appointed cottage, oozing atmosphere and charm. Set beneath a beamed ceiling with rural views, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is the heart of this home. Rustle up home-cooked meals in the kitchen before settling around the dining table to savour meals with a view. Then snuggle up on the sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV or plan your adventures for the following day. When night falls, head up to find two double bedrooms set beneath the eaves, both with some restricted head space. A downstairs bathroom completes the accommodation. While this property has no outdoor space, there are walks on your doorstep along with a private parking space. There is secure bike storage available to those wanting to explore the beauty of the area on bike.

Bursting with gothic charm, Whitby invites exploration, from the ruins of Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Dracula, to its bustling harbour and quirky, narrow streets. Amble around the fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay (12.5 and 3.4 miles respectively) or set off to explore coastal trails and bridleways traversing the wild landscapes of the North York Moors.

A truly lovely little cottage, very comfortable bed and well equipped. The horses are a bonus and we loved the way they came right up to the window for the carrots, apples and mints that we gave them. Local buses into Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough ran every half hour and quite late into the evening. The welcome basket of tea, coffee andRead more snacks was very nice after our long journey up. Hide

Very nice cottage, super views. Very quiet . Good access to supermarkets and other well know shops. Only let down no garden for the dog, but we did know. Nice walks.

Comfortable little cottage in a good location, particularly if you have a dog. The Scarborough to Whitby cinder track (the old Victorian railway line) runs past about 100 yards away. A perfect easy walk and not muddy! You can walk to Whitby one way or Robin Hoods Bay the other way. Village has a nice pub with good value food only a 5 minute walk frRead moreom the cottage. Parking at the cottage can be a bit tight for modern size cars, particularly if all cottages are occupied. Overall a great place to stay...just beware the horse in the paddock behind the cottage which has learned how to open the downstairs windows! Hide

Cottage is fairly basic, but well situated for exploring the Whitby area with easy access to the Cinder Path. It is a couple of minutes walk to the village pub and near supermarkets for food shopping.
