On your doorstep is the outdoor adventure centre, How Stean Gorge, promising adrenaline-pumping excursions including gorge walking, abseiling and caving. From the village, you can explore the Nidderdale Way, a long-distance walking and cycling route, and for mountain climbers, the fell of Great Whernside is around 17 miles away. This hill is easy to summit with younger adventurers, yet just as rewarding, with incredible views for those more experienced. For those who prefer to take it easy with tours of local towns and villages, the nearby destinations of Harrogate (20.5 miles), Pateley Bridge (7.5 miles) and Skipton (23.5 miles) are on the cards for effortless afternoons.
