The property was very clean, spacious and eclectic. We were a family group of six adults and three young children but no one felt overcrowded and there was plenty of room for us all. The Hot Tub area was good and the adults enjoyed the sauna once the kids were in bed. The location is superb - a short walk to the beautiful River Swale where the kidRead mores loved paddling in the water safely and easy access to the Easby Abbey walk. To get to the market square you do have to go up a rather steep hill, which might be something to bear in mind but it wasnt an issue for us. Richmond is a lovely town and this accommodation reflects the cool, quaint vibe of the place. Would thoroughly recommend Hide

We had a really great week in The Old Sunday School Spa .. Richmond is a lovely place and the house is perfectly situated. The owner was friendly and helpful. We loved the hot tub and the sauna, the children enjoyed playing pool and we did some good walks around Richmond and in the Dales which were wonderful and we enjoyed the castle and the thRead moreeatre. The house is perfectly situated for the town, and the space great for a couple of families as there are two kitchens and living rooms, but big enough for everyone to get together if they wish. Parking was a bit tricky, but there is a car park nearby. We would all thoroughly recommend. Hide

We spent a week here - the host was very friendly and helpful. The property is large and comfortable, especially because of the various large areas to share, the sauna and hot tub. I'd definitely recommend for larger gatherings.

Beautiful property, decorated to a high standard. There were seven of us and we all enjoyed our stay. A five minute walk into Richmond, uphill, but worth the effort. March 2025 As a group of 10, we hired the whole Sunday School Spa and I have to say, it was fantastic. The location in the centre of Richmond is perfect and the parking is a breeze and free of charge! Alternatively there is a huge car park at the end of the green, with a nominal charge of course. 5 minute walk up the hill into the main square wRead moreith loads of restaurants, pubs, shops and places for food shopping. The own Emma met us on arrival and showed us around, making sure we knew how everything worked. She was very lovely and answered any questions we had. She noted that if we had any issues, she was just a call away as she lived close by. The full property is huge, with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 lounges, big dining area, outdoor hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. It's immaculately presented, with super comfy sofas, there's a wood burning fire in the front room for cozy night in. Multiple TV's with satellite connection and great wi-fi. We really enjoyed staying there and will come back again for sure. Hide

The cottage is located near the centre of the town being only about 5 minutes walk from the centre. One thing to note is that it is at the bottom of a steep climb to the centre so I would say this needs to be considered for elderly or those with mobility but we found it to be a good way to start the day walking into town. The venue itself has limiRead moreted parking but we managed to park both cars within 10 metres of our stay and there was also a carpark at 18 per week if that hadn't worked out. The upstairs part of the venue is lovely and the living room is spacious, warm and cosy Two of the bedrooms are off the hallway and one bedroom is overlooking the living room. This was ideal for my sister and their kids as it meant they could check on them and still have a lie in without having to go down and check on them. The hot tub was nice and warm whenever we used it, but we never got round to using the sauna as the hot tub was always appealing. The downstairs we stayed in unfortunately had a blockage which showed up on our second day there and caused water to leak out from under a cupboard where water had built up making the smell in the living room and kitchen unbearable and therefore unusable. Luckily we had the upstairs also booked out so we spent most of our time once awake upstairs. We stayed there from Monday to Monday morning and the smell only really started to clear by the Saturday night/Sunday morning. We made the best we could of the available space we had left but this wasn't ideal with 6 adults and 2 children. because of this we went out most days and made the most of the surrounding scenery also eating out in the city centre. Richmond has a lot of lovely scenery and attractions to make walks a lovely thing to do which is one reason we made do with what we had. If the problem is totally fixed then I see no reason that this cottage will not be a nice place to stay. Some other little thing sot note are that I would recommend taking washing up liquid and kitchen roll with you as these aren't provided, but there are plenty towels to last you the whole week. Hide
