Lilac Cottage: We stayed for a week in January 2025 & will happily stay there again. The Cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished with quality items. The multi-fuel burning stove was lovely. The bed, pillows, linens and the towels were all very good. Driveway parking, neat garden. The village of Aldbrough St John is quiet, there is a pub, theRead more Stanwick Arms, which only reopened on our last night after a refurbishment; we did call in for a drink and received a nice welcome but cannot comment on their food offerings. Best to check their opening days/ times. Paul, the owner of Lilac Cottage was very efficient with the pre-arrival information and anything we needed to ask whilst we there. Thank you. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location. Perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Fabulous surroundings and countryside on your doorstep. The hosts were very welcoming to us and our four legged friend! The garden was secure for a small dog.
