Enjoy big-group getaways at this elegant Edwardian home. Located at the heart of one of the Dales'' most delightful villages, it features full-of-character interiors with a choice of spaces where eight can kick back in comfort. An enclosed garden allows for al fresco dining, and for more fresh air fun the River Wharfe and Dales Way are on the doorstep. Lying on a bend of the River Wharfe surrounded by a spectacular circle of fells, Burnsall is a beautiful location for a break with friends or family - and this handsome holiday home will add a whole new level of luxury to your time here. Within 50 metres of the riverbank, it offers a mix of historic charm with high-end must-haves, its three floors offering plenty of space for a party to spread out in comfort.

Step inside and you''ll find a sitting room where high ceilings, wood-panelled walls and a wood burner set the scene for relaxation. Adjacent, the stunning kitchen centres around an oil-fired Aga and is sure to be a hive of activity; a rustic dining suite complements the country styling. Off the kitchen is a sunroom: a bright space with seats for eight at a large dining table, large glass doors opening onto the garden, and leather sofas - take a seat and watch as the dogs enjoy a sniff outside. For some real downtime, retreat to the nearby snug where inviting seating and a reading light provide a more peaceful haven. When it''s time to retire, the first floor has two super-king-size bedrooms - one of them with its own en-suite - and one king-size room, plus a stylish family bathroom. On the second floor, the master bedroom is serene, with a super-king-size bed, a large leather chair and a private WC. Outside, a prettily planted courtyard-style garden is to the rear of the property. South-facing, it has a stone-flagged patio and seating area - a perfect spot for food and refreshments.

Stroll around the village and you''ll find a fine selection of friendly inns and eateries, but if you want to really stretch your legs, Burnsall is on both the 85-mile Dales Way and the Way of the Roses cycle route. Just 6 miles downstream from the village are the historic ruins of Bolton Abbey, while Grassington is less than 4 miles to the north-west; visit the National Park Visitor Centre here to plan more adventures. Vibrant Skipton (10.5 miles) is home to one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England.

Fabulous location on the main street of the most beautiful village. The cottage has the potential to be beautiful, but it's in need of TLC and a few upgrades. Being in the most beautiful part of the world helps to overlook some of the issues with the cottage. Beds are very comfortable and the bedding feels lovely and soft. Having super king sizeRead more beds is a plus and was appreciated. The Aga in the kitchen isn't the easiest to cook on if you're looking for a quick meal when you get in after a day out, but the alternative equipment (George Foremen grill and plug in hob) helps over come this, just a bit of a pain that you need to consider this. Would return to Burnsall in a heartbeat. Hide

Lovely property and nice amenities, but very unloved and in need of a deep clean. Should be fabulous but it isnt sadly. Would have wanted to go again if it was maintained better. The Aga wasnt usable and an air fryer and two ring electric plate was provided - so good job there was only 2 of us.

Overall it was a very nice stay for the family and my special birthday celebrations. We were close to the local coaching inn and a cafe and ice cream parlour. We loved the 1980s Trivial Pursuit, but that was probably because we knew a lot of the answers. Didnt have the weather for the barbecue but the enclosed garden was lovely when the sun came Read moreout. Overall a lovely building, just needs a bit of updating and TLC to match the price. The owners were very accommodating with a refund because the Aga was not working because of nesting birds in the chimney. Hide

Had a relaxing stay at the property, value for money compared to others of similar size in the area however the price was reflective in the property itself which needs a bit of maintenance and updating. Cleanliness was acceptable, however because of the age of the property and numerous fittings it was very dusty and some of the furniture was worn.Read more Excellent sleep quality , beds and bedding were very comfortable. Suited our large family with dogs but there is definitely room for improvements . Hide

1.Fix the AGA, The whole place stank of kerosene , we had to have the doors and windows open all the time, which made it cold in the evening. Two of our party felt unwell due to the fumes. After we had been out walking for the day, the smell had really built up. Secondly over the week the AGA slowly lost temperature, to the point it was unusableRead more. I have had an AGA for twenty years , so I know how they should perform. 2.The upstairs shower leaks when in use and drips through the kitchen ceiling on to the work top, when in use. This has been an ongoing issue, as there is a clear mark on the ceiling. 3.Lack of dishwasher combined with one small draining rack and one tea towel is not adequate when catering for 6 The cottage is in a lovely location, but needs some maintenance. We have been staying in holiday cottages twice a year for 25 years and this was the only really bad experience. Our stay was ruined by the strong smell of kerosene emanating from the AGA. It was so bad we had to have all the windows and doors open, which was ok in the day , but cold at night. The upstairs shower leaked through the ceiling and onto the kitchen worktop. There was only one small draining rack and one tea towel , which is inadequate when catering for six people. There was no dishwasher. We complained about the fumes immediately, and the staff at Original Cottages offered us 100 towards a dinner at the lovely local pub. However, they were unable to get an AGA engineer to fix until way after our stay ended. The fume issue persisted, the staff at Original Cottages eventually asked me to shut down the AGA. We only had a micro wave and air frier to cater for 6 people. On the last day we eat out at the pub, and I asked Original Cottages if they could get us some compensation. At this point it appeared that Original Cottages had been taken over by Holiday Cottages.co.uk. The helpful responses to my enquires stopped. Now the help line appears to be off shore. Our holiday was 16/05/2025, I am still waiting to hear back from HolidayCottages.co.uk. I have made multiple calls, to be told someone will get back to me, and no-one ever has. Dont use this organisation, they cant even be bothered to send an email Hide
