Lovely cottage, everything we needed, peaceful and quiet. Only thing is to think about, it's a fridge with a freezer compartment, not fridge freezer, otherwise nothing to complain about. Perfect.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Calf Pens. We visited for February half term and found both the surroundings and the accommodation itself idyllic. The rural setting is just stunning. The cottage was perfect for us as a family of 3 with a 5 year old and very cosy with underfloor heating and a log burner. There was so much to do close by. Read moreWe visited Fountains Abbey, Ripon with its museums and cathedral, and York, all of which is within a 20-50 minute drive. Our host was absolutely fantastic, greeting us on arrival and even providing eggs, bread and a bottle (such a lovely touch). Communication was great throughout. Everything about our stay was super. Beautiful location and beautifully presented cottage. Well equipped kitchen and lovely shower. We enjoyed meeting the geese and ducks and walks in the adjacent nature reserve.

A delightful sanctuary of peace and relaxation in a great location to take in the jewels of Yorkshire. Complete isolation with the advantage of the owner on site should you require assistance or advice on anything.
