Ideally located to explore the North York Moors and the Yorkshire coastline, this lovely large property is a great base for family and friends with up to two dogs. Bursting with charm inside and out, the property seamlessly blends original features such as exposed beams with modern updates to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Travel just 5 miles to Whitby and you’ll be by the seaside with rugged coastal walks to enjoy and an array of independent eateries to indulge in as the sun begins to set.

Upon arrival, the cosy living room is a perfect place to convene, with an array of soft seating options with views of the garden and characterful features such as a grandfather clock. Next door is the elegant diner and a table seating eight, be it for a light breakfast or an indulgent meal to celebrate an occasion. The kitchen has a country style, with pastel green cabinets and a worktop that ensures plenty of space to cook up a storm, with an informal four-seater dining table for morning coffees. Bedroom one also sits on the ground floor along with a modern shower room. The bedroom is furnished with twin beds to allow for flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. Upstairs are a further three bedrooms, including a large king-size bedroom, tastefully decorated with quirky pieces of furniture. Next door is a second twin bedroom and a double bedroom, both providing a restful ambience to help you fall asleep. Completing the property is the family bathroom where long soaks in the bath can be enjoyed after a day of adventure. Outside, the patio is a pretty place to sit and watch the world go by with a cup of tea in hand when the sun is shining.

Take a tour of the coast to see the iconic Yorkshire sights with Robin Hood’s Bay (7 miles), Staithes (17 miles) and Scarborough (18 miles) all within reach for a day trip. The Yorkshire Coast Path connects all of these picturesque locations, providing a plethora of walking routes of varying difficulty for those who like to stay active whilst on holiday. Further inland is North Riding Forest Park, home to the awe-inspiring Dalby Forest which covers 8,500 acres of natural beauty and activities for all the family, from treetop adventures at Go Ape to incredible opportunities for stargazing.

Overall the property had character and we stayed as family of 6 with 2 dogs it was good size however it had some limited information and the place and had very basic essentials. Location is great to visit Whitby however it is on a busy road

Well equipped and comfortable period holiday cottage. Although on main road, well soundproofed and extremely convenient for Spar shop - open every day until 10pm - excellent butcher, deli and bakers. Fantastic cottage. Very comfortable- the beds were so comfortable. The location is fantastic too with a lovely butchers, bakery and fish and chips shop in the village. We had a lovely holiday there and would love to return.
