Gaze out across the verdant hills from this cottage right at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Located in Hawes, the two-bedroom retreat sleeps four guests and offers dog-friendly accommodation so your four-pawed pal can come along too. With a courtyard garden where you can bask in the Yorkshire sunshine after your long walks, it also has a reverse-level design and a Juliet balcony for maximising the views.

Let yourselves into the charming stone abode at ground-floor level to discover this is where both your king-size bedrooms are situated. The family shower room is also downstairs. Climb the stairs to the first floor of the cottage to spread out and relax in its inviting living accommodation. Amble through to the lounge to read your books, catch up on your favourite boxsets or make plans for the following day’s adventures as you enjoy the views. Wander into the kitchen to make cups of tea and coffee or to whip up the next delicious meal using the fresh Yorkshire produce you have bought in Hawes. Gather round the table in here to dine together with the doors to the Juliet balcony open to bring in a spring or summer breeze. Dine outside in the fresh air on fine days or unwind on the bench over morning coffee in the courtyard garden before striking out on your next excursion.

Stroll around the characterful streets of Hawes, pausing in independent shops or sitting down to afternoon tea in a cafe. Take a tour of the Wensleydale Creamery and visit the Dales Countryside museum while you are here. Walk 1.5 miles out of town to Hardraw Force Waterfall or 2.5 miles to Cotter Force. Pick up the Pennine Way in Hawes or attempt a circular walk that takes you along part of the long-distance footpath.

Very clean, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a great location for all that Hawes has to offer - many excellent eateries only a short walk, and some fine walks available from the door.

Lovely cottage. Clean with everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. Great view across the fields. Beds comfortable and cottage central to Hawes. We found parking ok with our Kuga, just needed to manoeuvre car ie drive past opening, reverse back into Loxley house opening and then drive into parking space. No problem at all parking. The property's location is ideal if you want easy and quick access (who doesn't?) to local shops and the nearest pub with no need to get in the car, and at the same time have total peace and quiet. The house is finished to a very high standard, very well equipped, and comfortable. Ideal for a relaxing break.

Comfortable, well equipped property. Good quality furniture, bedding etc. Beds very comfortable! Lots of nice personal touches. Views from lounge beautiful, spectacular sunsets during our stay. Excellent location, parking in central Hawes a real bonus. Access a bit tight but manageable with care. We had a lovely stay and would return. Thankyou.

Holme Barn is exceptionally well equipped, spacious, comfortable and well located for Hawes and the surrounding area. It is a great advantage to have a parking space next to the cottage in central Hawes. However, the only downside is that the access lane is very narrow and it is quite difficult to manoeuvre anything larger than a mid-sized vehiclRead moree into the parking space, especially with the table and chairs and bin store occupying both sides of the parking area. This is not apparent from the cottage description and photos. Great care is needed when using the shower - if the temperature control is turned any higher than lukewarm, the temperature alternates between freezing cold and scalding hot. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Holme Barn and would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Hawes. Hide

What a nice place: comfortable, clean, very well equipped and in an excellent position to take advantage of Hawes (don't miss the auction mart, Creamery or Cockett's), and walking in the stunning local countryside. What a marvellous cottage! Very homely, lovely and clean. Great location right in town but hidden away from the hustle and bustle which meant it was nice and peaceful. We had a lovely time despite the wet wheather and we even got engaged at Bolton Castle.
