Enjoy the magnificent Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of this impressive barn conversion. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom retreat makes a superb choice for a group of friends or relatives seeking a sumptuous base in a countryside setting. Situated at Hawkswick, 6 miles from Grassington, the handsome stone hideaway nestles in beautiful gardens and captures views out across the undulating national park.

Enter the impressive retreat to find accommodation that still embodies original character while also exuding style throughout. Make your way into the lounge to fire up the wood burner in the winter or pull open the bi-folding doors in the summer. Another wood burner is in the inviting snug. Take three steps up to the kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling, to prepare dinner or pull a chair up to the table to enjoy a cup of fresh coffee from the machine. The utility room, with WC, and boot room are also here. Gather round the table in the dining hall for grand meals together. A king-size bedroom, with dressing room and en-suite shower room, and a super-king-size that can be made up as two 2’6” singles instead by prior agreement, are also downstairs. Head upstairs to another super-king-size that can be arranged as a twin, and to a beautiful king-size bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, with a gorgeous freestanding bath. The family bathroom is also at this level. Spread out into the garden on sunny days to light the BBQ, dine in the sunshine and play games with the children or your four-legged friends on the grass.

Venture 7 miles to Malham Tarn, a picturesque, glacial lake you can walk beside. Malham Cove, an impressive, curved cliff, 9.5 miles away, and Gordale Scar, a hidden gorge, 11.5 miles away, are also well worth visiting during your Yorkshire stay.

Fantastic time had by all. Old Hall great accommodation, plenty of room, well stocked with equipment, really good mix of old and contemporary. Location great for walking (including without having to drive) and sight seeing. Did have trouble getting the wood burner in the main room to light but this was a minor inconvenience probably more linked Read moreto our fire lighting skills. Hide

A Hogmanay celebration in a superb house - everything thought of. Weather could have been better but more energetic members did two local park runs and a bit of walking all in all a wonderful break.

We've had a fabulous week with amazing sunshine! The able walked Malham Cove and to the Strid, Bolten Abbey. Many spiders were caught, including one found in Grandma's bed! Awesome house, we don't want to leave!
