Nestled in the pretty village of Lockton, this charming property is the perfect base for exploring the North York Moors and coast. Offering flexible accommodation for up to six people, this cottage offers space for relaxing and socialising, with an open-plan living area, a separate snug and games room, and a lovely back garden. With a wealth of nearby places to keep guests of all ages entertained, it’s ideal for family get-togethers or holidaying with friends.

Arranged over two storeys, the cottage has a relaxing and calming ambience with clean, contemporary lines and a neutral colour palette. Three steps lead to the front door, where a welcoming hallway has space to store coats and bags. Light-filled and thoughtfully designed, the lounge/kitchen/diner is the hub of the home. Sink into the sofas after a country walk to relive the best bits of your day while browsing your pictures. Make good use of delicious local produce as you rustle up tasty meals, then settle around the dining table to toast your day with a celebratory meal. In warm weather, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco in the fresh country air. Spend cosy evenings watching a film while the kids play upstairs in the snug, which has board games plus a TV with a WII games console. Pleasantly tired, retreat to your bedroom for a good night’s sleep; choose between a master suite with a king-size bed and private balcony, or two versatile king-size bedrooms with zip-and-link beds.

Enjoy a taste of Yorkshire in the popular Lockton Tearooms and Gallery, or strike out on foot to the neighbouring village of Levisham; the route passes several interesting archaeological sites. There’s a world of adventure nearby from hiking and cycling in Dalby Forest (2 miles) to the market town of Pickering (6 miles). Here, you’ll find a 13th-century castle and a heritage steam railway that runs to the seaside town of Whitby (16 miles).
