Occupying a rural location 2 miles north of Pockley, this self-contained apartment makes the perfect getaway for couples looking to enjoy quality time together. Set on a small family farm in the North York Moors National Park, this petite property is a delight for walkers and nature lovers with some fantastic trails from your doorstep. Post-adventures, you’ll love returning here to stargaze on the patio, glass of wine in hand, or snuggle on the bed to watch a film.

Beautifully designed and thoughtfully equipped, this delightful studio is a little gem. Five steps lead into the property to a lovely open-plan area. Prepare a romantic meal for two in the handcrafted kitchen, then toast your adventures at the dining table. There’s a small bistro table and chairs on the south-facing patio that’s perfect for enjoying a morning cuppa or watching the sunset with a glass of wine, drinking in the moorland views. There’s also a small lawned area, shared with the owners. On rainy days, settle into the comfortable armchairs with your favourite novel or pop a film on the smart TV. Alternatively, head to Pickering (14 miles) to explore the 13th-century castle or hop on the heritage steam railway, which runs all the way to Whitby during the summer.

We were very happy with the well-equipped and comfortable accommodation, in a peaceful rural setting. Ailsa was a helpful and responsive owner. We've not used Original Cottages before, so can't give higher scores to the last 2 questions.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Spacious yet cosy, very clean and nicely decorated. Alisa is a fantastic host and provided plenty of information for walks and cycling. I would say though, if you want to nip to a pub you do have to drive so this accommodation is for keen walkers and cyclers and those that are happy to drive out, which we were.
