This stunning property is located in Whitby, just over 0.5 miles from the harbour. A rare find, with four large bedrooms sleeping eight, this is your perfect holiday getaway, offering a luxurious base to explore Whitby with its stylish bars and award-winning restaurants. From its welcoming spacious hall with wood-effect tiled floor to the beautiful mango woodwork throughout, the owner has thought of everything you would need to make this the best holiday experience for you.

Enter this reverse-level property through the front door where a generous hallway awaits with plenty of hooks to hang your coats and seats with shoe racks beneath. Bedroom one has zip-and-link beds which can either be twin or king-size. The room has a TV and also an en-suite double walk-in shower. Bedroom two, which is king-size, also has an en-suite shower room and a TV. There’s also a utility room which leads to the ‘Retreat’. This area has reclaimed wood panelled walls and an eight-seater hot tub, mood lighting and a tiki bar – the ideal place to gather and relax at the end of a long day sightseeing around the local area. The bar area seats eight and is equipped with unbreakable glasses and serving dishes along with a wine fridge to store your drinks in. There is even a speaker system installed for the perfect party! The open-plan living area is a wonderfully light and airy room which boasts five windows overlooking the surrounding parkland and with views across the North Yorkshire Moors, a rarity from the centre of Whitby. With two three-seater sofas and a two-seater sofa, a large glass coffee table and a TV, this is a great place to sit together and make plans for the next day of your holiday. There are two dining areas; choose from the dining table and four chairs or sit on one of the four chairs arranged around the extended kitchen island and chat with the designated cook. The well-equipped kitchen has marble worktops and mango work units and shelves. Moving on to the remaining bedrooms, there’s a king-size room with a TV and a door through to a small galleried landing with inset bookcases, and a zip-and-link room (either twin or king-size) with a TV also. A family bathroom serves these two rooms with an L-shaped bath with a shower attachment. Outside, there is a sweeping drive up to the property and car parking to the side. The property is set on shared grounds with a seating area under the trees to the side of the property.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year. Whitby Harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity, and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting the first choice of their catch of the day.

Property was great for 6 adults although I think it would have been difficult to sit 8 people comfortably in the lounge. Very generous welcome pack! The bedrooms and bathrooms were very luxurious. Ideal location to explore Whitby and surrounding areas. Very enjoyable holiday and would recommend to friends and family.

A lovely property. Well equipped and nicely furnished. A lovely hamper was there on our arrival, which was a nice touch. Its only has a small kitchen if there's a large group of people needing access. Good location for access to the town and shops but it is very noisy as it is right beside the main road on a crossroads where the A171 meets the ARead more174 with very busy traffic. It was hot when we were there, and so we needed the windows open, which obviously allowed the road noise to be heard even more. Outside seating area was poor. Only 4 chairs and no table. So if there's a party of more than 4 there's not seating for everyone. Also, it's very noisy with the traffic going backwards and forwards. There was only 1 key in the 'key lock box' to gain access to the property. It would have been useful to have 2. ( when there's a large group of people occupying the property ) Hide

Very tastefully renovated house with good quality fixtures and fittings and comfortable beds. Well located just a 10min walk into the town centre. An outside seating area with table and chairs was all that we felt was lacking.

An amazing cottage in an ideal location, only 10 minute walk into Whitby harbour. The cottage was immaculately clean, tidy, with modern decor, and gorgeous fixtures and fittings. The games and books were a bonus on the rainy days. The hot tub room was well worth the additional cost, we all loved it and will be back!

An immaculate property with an amazing tiki bar complete with a huge hot tub which we all loved. Close to all amenities. A bit closer to the main road than expected but not too noisy. Could do with a few fans being available. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return.

Excellent property, location and facilities. It was finished to a very high standard. The only recommendations I would make would be a couple of deep sided large pans for 1 pot cooking and better ventilation in the room with the hot tub. Apart from those small observations everything else was excellent .

Thankyou very much. We had a lovely stay- however, on arrival we noticed there was only 7 of most things, bath robes, towels in the hot tub room & mugs etc...and just to mention: we had a washing machine full of dirty towels when we arrived too. The hot tub had been overfilled, which made it difficult as when 2 ( only) of our party got in -the hotRead more tub overflowed. Which meant we were reluctant to use it as we had to spend almost an hour cleaning & mopping up! So in hindsight, we would have not bothered with the hot tub. The house is wonderful and fulfilled all our expectations . Just thought it best to mention as constructive criticism. Thankyou. Kind Regards, Sam Ellis . Hide

I contacted you on the first night regarding the incorrect make up of beds. After a couple of phone calls this matter was not resolved and no one turned up to the property to sort this despite being told this would happen. Pictures of the hot tub/outside area where a bit misleading - not option to open the doors outside as soon in the pictures. IRead more also asked for recommendations of local places to visit/eat etc before our trip so we could plan/book places but heard nothing. Some crockery had to be washed before using and a pair of socks not belonging to us were found under one of the beds. Hide
