Whisk your loved one off to this magical, romantic retreat, which is surrounded by rolling fields on all sides. Sleeping just two guests, the sumptuous, one-bedroom barn, which is also suitable for two friends, is 1.5 miles from Gunnerside and 18.5 miles from Richmond. It is in a superb setting for heading off on long walks through Swaledale and exploring the eastern side of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Step inside to discover contemporary, open-plan living in a bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner. Tear yourselves away from the picture windows that pull the gorgeous views right into the space to start preparing dinner in the kitchen with the Yorkshire produce you have bought on your latest excursion. Enjoy a delicious meal for two at the table then make fresh coffee in the machine to take over to the lounge area. Find a film on the Smart TV, make plans for the following day or simply gaze out at the scenery. When day turns to night, head upstairs to your inviting, super-king-size room, with a bed that can also be divided into two singles if discussed at booking. A bathroom, with underfloor heating, is also at this level. Enjoy a cup of tea out in the lawned area to the side of the barn on sunny days and open a bottle of wine out here on balmy evenings. There is private parking at the property.

Visit the Aysgarth Falls, 9.5 miles away and with its stunning views, triple waterfall and woodland walks, during your stay. Have day out to the market town Richmond to explore the historic city, browse in its shops and visit its castle. Stock up on local produce and dine out while you are here. The smaller town of Hawes, 9 miles from the barn, is also worth visiting.

  • 1 super-king-size bedroom (can be converted to a twin on request)

A beautiful tranquil and idylic place to stay with fantastic views. The property was clean and very comfortable. We had a very relaxing 2 weeks stay, with excellent walks from the door, and great local pubs and tearooms close by.

A really lovely property, very secluded but in the middle of all the lovely villages that make visitors very welcome. Some nice walks start almost at your door so you don't have to be a dedicated walker to enjoy the countryside around you.

We loved our time at Millbridge Barn. The views were wonderful and we were able to walk along the river Swale from our doorstep. The barn itself was clean, comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of our 2 week stay there. Thank you for the generous welcome basket. It was most welcome!

You confirmed our option of twin beds, but the property was set up with a double bed which was unprofessional and very disappointing. However the owners responded quickly to remedy the situation

A couple of things would have been useful. A tray, a bit more crockery as if self catering there is a lot of washing up to be done to keep a clean supply. Some more comfortable outside furniture. That provided was very functional.
