Amazing location, we were blessed with fabulous weather so got to explore the local area....however ... There is no name outside the property so make sure you have a photo with you. The dining table is very unsteady One of the bedroom windows does not open, the handle is broken on the bathroom window. One of the windows by the back door dRead moreoes not open and the back door blind is broken. The rubbish collection is not clear, we spent most of the week with sacks of the previous occupants rubbish. There is not a local shop as described when we booked and in the info pack, it closed in 2023 The welcome back is lovely, but ground coffee and no coffee press is not a lot of use. There were more on our list. We have contacted holidaycottages.co.uk with these issues .... we contacted them whilst away and declined work to be completed during our holiday and interfere with our plans as these are not emergency repairs, they are lack of care and preparation. Once completed, we'd recommend the cottage Hide

Our four day break at Ebor Cottage South was delightful. It's cosy and comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is in a great location and we took advantage of the fine weather to walk on the beach to Whitby and up into Mulgrave woods. There are really good places to eat out in the village and of course further afield.

Very disappointed with this cottage overall. Convenient location for beach and all amenities, including bus. Great views of bay from garden and front bedroom window. Busy main road but traffic noise not too much of a problem and lovely to wake up to the sound of the waves. Front bedroom is light, sunny and pleasant and sitting/dining room ok for moRead morerning sun. Pleasant front garden but garden furniture is old and tatty and we were unsure how safe it was to sit on. In general the property feels old, dark, unloved and in need of a thorough deep clean. We were particularly disappointed that there is nowhere to sit in the evening sunshine as the sun sinks below the wooded hill to the rear. Hide

The house is in a fabulous location with beautiful sea views and very close to the cafes, eateries and pub! We loved the fluffy white towels and most of what we needed kitchen wise was on hand. Sandsend is a lovely place to stay and we would definitely go back there. Take a sharp knife if that is important to you.

What a pretty cottage in a beautiful location. The views are amazing Well equipped and comfortable inside. There are a fair few steps at the front of the house for those who have mobility issues to be aware of. But we'll worth it at the top.

Lovely holiday cottage in a prime position on the sea front at Sandsend. Private garden at the front with spectacular sea views and a seating area to eat outside in warm weather. Also a private outdoor seating/eating area on a rear terrace for choice. The wifi was good.

We enjoyed our stay here, the perfect spot for watching the wildlife from the garden...make sure you bring binoculars! We saw gannets, dolphins and a basking shark. Good bus service into Whitby and villages to the north means you can leave the car behind if you wish. Property is warm and cosy.

This is a small but cosy cottage, which is well equipped, very warm and very clean. We had mixed weather but were able to relax and enjoy the dramatic seas; the views are wonderful. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the local pub and 3 good cafes, as well as the two gift shops. Just be aware that there are 19 steps up to the properRead morety from the road, some of which are quite deep. Hide
