Property code: OC-DS1044

Soak up the serenity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park when you stay at this exquisite stone hideaway in Low Row, near Richmond. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom bolthole, which offers dog-friendly accommodation, captures far-reaching views out across the rolling countryside and has outdoor seating where you can kick back, relax and absorb the tranquillity after your long walks.

Make your way inside via a hallway with a flagstone floor and space for wellies, walking boots and coats. The heart of the holiday home is an airy, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can settle down in front of the Smart TV or listen to music through the Bluetooth speaker. Whip up tasty meals for your party here too then gather round the table. There is also a useful utility or drying room downstairs, together with a family shower room. Head upstairs to a king-size bedroom and a single, with another single trundle bed beneath it. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor. Have a glass of wine out on the bench beside the cottage and watch as the sun goes down and stars come out in the summer. Parking for this property is on the road, subject to availability.

Prepare a picnic, lace up your walking boots and strike out on walks beside the River Swale or across the surrounding fells. Hike 1.5 miles to see the eery remains of the Old Gang Smelting Mill or 2.5 miles to the top of Calver Hill with its spectacular views. Drive 14.5 miles to spend the day in picturesque Richmond. Wander its charming streets, browse in its colourful shops and dine out in eateries serving fresh Yorkshire produce. Visit the castle while you are here and perhaps stroll 1 mile out of town to see the ruins of Easby Abbey.

The Nick Jone property probably has the best views of any cottage in the Dales. with a spacious kitchen/lounge and large main bedroom is provides a luxury base from which to access the northern dales. Modern living in a characterful barn conversion. great pubs and restaurants within a short drive, including the excellent Punch Bowl just across the Read moreroad! Hide

A cottage in a lovely position with good views, but; Considering check in time and reasons given the so the cottage can be cleaned and prepared, the place could have been a lot cleaner, kitchen floor needed brushing day one, look under the main bed, we would bet even now it hasnt been cleaned (we have picture) it is really bad; shower not properlyRead more clean. Mattress could do with replacing. No recycling bins provided (this is important) and rubbish collection not clear, also providing only one black bin liner when rubbish collection was apparently mid week. I doubt you will not use this review. Hide

Lovely converted barn, in good position in Swaledale. Well equipped. Some of the equipment and finishing was not to the highest standard, but this did not detract in a dog-friendly cottage. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. One of the bedrooms had a window onto the road which meant some road noise, but quiet between 11pm and 6 am. Views from the baRead moreck of the property are outstanding, which gets the sun virtually all day. Overall we had a lovely week. Hide

The property is excellent. The views are stunning. We were only there 5 days but settled in so quickly. The garden is described as enclosed, but if you have a dog it would be possible for them to get down to the field behind. This was not an issue for us as I noticed this from the photo online, so our dog always went out on a long lead due to thRead moree sheep in the field. I would certainly recommend the property. Hide
