While away hours at a time gazing out across the magnificent Swaledale scenery from this gorgeous Yorkshire cottage. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat is set in an enviable position near Feetham, 13 miles from Richmond and in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With a lawned garden for basking in the summer sunshine and two wood burners for winter warming, the picture-postcard, stone hideaway is perfect for a family or a group of friends.
Follow the garden path and take three steps up to make your way inside the cottage. Light the wood burner in the spacious kitchen/diner on chilly days then set about preparing a homecooked spread with the fresh Yorkshire ingredients you have bought on your latest trip out. Gather round the table to enjoy the dishes you have made then retire to the beamed lounge to light the other wood burner, find a film on TV and enjoy a pleasant evening in together. There is also a handy utility and drying room at ground-floor level. As dusk falls and you feel ready to turn in for the night, head upstairs for an excellent sleep in the king-size bedroom, with en-suite shower room, the twin or the double. The family bathroom is also here. Take your morning coffee out into the sunny, sloped garden on warm mornings. Dine out here later on as well, taking in the panoramic views. There is an outbuilding for storing bikes and space for one car to park off-road at the cottage.
Stride off on scenic walks alongside the River Swale and across the fells from your doorstep. Plan day trips into Richmond to explore its pretty streets, ponder in its independent shops and dine out in its pubs and cafes. Visit the clifftop, Norman castle while you are here.
