Gaze out across the rolling fells from this charming stone cottage in Hawes. Set deep within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the two-bedroom holiday home sleeps four guests and is ideal for anyone seeking natural beauty as well as the convenience of a small town. A superb base for long walks, days out to beauty spots and trips to historic sites, it is also the perfect place to return to in the evening when you want to unwind in comfort, in the welcoming glow of a wood burner.
Climb 12 stone steps up to the front door and enter the property at first-floor level. Leave your coats and shoes in the hall and wander through to the kitchen/diner to unpack your shopping a make a well-earned cup of tea. There is ample room to cook hearty meals in here too and to sit down at the table with your friends of family. Spend evenings in the lounge, taking in the views during the summer, and perhaps opening the French doors on to the Juliet balcony, or with the wood burner roaring in the colder months. Watch TV together, play games or chat about your day. When night falls, follow the stairs up to the super-king-size bedroom or the twin on the second floor. The family bathroom and a WC are also here. The garage, with laundry facilities and a table tennis table, is at ground-floor level. There is parking for one car with this cottage.
Step outside to explore Hawes to your heart’s content. Potter in the shops, stock up on local produce and visit the Wensleydale Creamery, made famous by Wallace and Gromit’s obsession with its cheese in their animated films. Venture 10 miles to scenic Aysgarth Falls or just 2.5 miles to the picturesque waterfall at Cotter Force.
