The Hayloft is a lovely property in a beautiful location, with great access to the Moors. The owners were very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. It was the perfect spot for a short, peaceful break.

A lovely cottage in a really good location. Nearby Helmsley is a great little market town with lots of independent shops and cafes, and The Hayloft made a fabulous base from which to visit the incredible ruined medieval Abbeys in the area - Whitby, Rievaulx, Fountains and Byland. Pickering and Helmsley castles were a real treat too, and the medievaRead morel wall paintings in St Peter and St Paul's Church in Pickering were breathtaking. The area is properly dog friendly too - Daisy made lots of friends, and we really appreciated being able to take her into shops and cafes (special mention to the Little Ripon Bookshop who fetched her fresh water while we browsed!). The Hayloft's owners Tony and Elaine were super-friendly and incredibly helpful, even managing to arrange to fix a broken shower the same day whilst they themselves were away on holiday. A smashing week in a very special place - thank you. Hide

Lovely accommodation. Only 1 problem. No milk was left and we had to drive out to find some on arrival. The welcome pack consisted of tea coffee and a packet of biscuits. We have had much better welcome packs and milk is an essential. Probably would not book this particular cottage again.

Had a lovely break here - very peaceful. Walked parts of the Cleveland Way, visited Nunnington Hall, Robin Hoods Bay and Goathland (Heartbeat location). Had a great curry at Fusion Spice round the corner and Sunday lunch at the Bay Hotel in Robin Hoods Bay,. Can recommend both.
