Stay in this quirky holiday let set in this charming village of Moulton in Yorkshire and embrace life as a local with your family and four-pawed pal. Light, bright and beautiful with elegant ceilings revealing it’s previous life as a chapel, this cottage is a perfect countryside base. Explore Richmond Castle with your hound in tow, or pick one of the many meandering walking trails in the area, visit the coast or head into the countryside for an adventure to remember.

This property certainly has the wow factor from the moment you walk through the arched doorway, retaining many of its original features with magnificent high ceilings, arched windows and exposed beams throughout. From the hall, you’ll head through to the open-plan kitchen/diner which is full of character with stylish cabinets and a farmhouse-style dining table making a great social space for cooking and eating. The living room/diner is located on the mezzanine with windows looking out to the gardens and allowing light to pour in. Two comfortable sofas make up the seating area where you can sprawl out and relax for a family film night with your canine curled up at your feet. Behind the sofas are two additional dining tables with chairs. Back on the ground floor there is a utility room with a washing machine, fridge/freezer and additional storage when needed. The first of the bedrooms is a king-size which can be made up as a twin on request, boasting a beautiful en-suite bathroom with panelled walls and a heated towel rail. The second bedroom is also a king-size, equipped with a built-in wardrobe and ample space to unpack your suitcase. Completing the property is the modern family shower room where you can refresh after a long day out walking with your pup. The gardens surrounding the property are well looked after with plenty of space for those on four legs to run and explore. When the weather is good, dine alfresco on one of the two seating areas and relax within the natural beauty of the space.

6 miles away you will find Richmond which is well-known for being dog-friendly with adventures along the River Swale and through the historic countryside sure to set tails wagging. Head to Hudswell Woods to find the best sticks to fetch, with a 4-mile trail beside the river leading you through a patchwork of terrain. Alternatively, let your pup lead the way on the Coast to Coast walk from Richmond to Reeth just over 10 miles through beautiful the countryside.

The Old Chapel is a little gem. We were concerned about this property not being very warm given that its a converted chapel and we visited in the winter (over the new year), however, it is quite honestly one of the warmest properties that weve stayed in! The heating was responsive and efficient meaning that we were nice and cosy while the storms ouRead moretside raged on! In terms of equipment, we always judge a cottage based on whether we can both make a gousto recipe at the same time without fighting over equipment. Again, the Old Chapel came up trumps. Plenty of kitchen equipment, enough worktop space to both be cooking at the same time and again, the hob and oven were responsive. The chapel was very clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was great too. All in all, lots of space for us to ring in the new year. In terms of location, there are walks around but they involve stiles which our dog wont tolerate being lifted over, so we tended to go a bit further afield for walks. But being located a few minutes away from the A1 (although youd never know it!) it meant that there was plenty of things within reasonable driving distances too. Wed definitely recommend this cottage to stay in. Hide

The Old Chapel has been beautifully restored to provide an exceptional property of great character warmth and comfort. The fully enclosed garden was lovely and we enjoyed spending time there with our dog. We highly recommend The Old Chapel.

Fabulous accommodation in a tranquil setting within a picturesque village. Loved everything about it and will be recommending to family and friends. We will definitely be back and hopefully in the spring or summer months to take advantage of the large but beautiful garden which was an added bonus. Our little westie loved it.

The Old Chapel is a charming and very comfortable holiday accommodation. The four of us really felt at home there. As the weather was fine we went on outings and trips and explored Swaledale and Wensleydale. We also went to Harrogate and Fountains Abbey. One absolute highlight is Ripon Cathedral. We found out that there is Evensong every evening andRead more we recommend to go there and enjoy the choir singing. You could find out on the internet at what time it starts and make sure not to be late. Evensong lasts about 45 minutes. Richmond is also well worth a visit. The old railway station has been turned in a restaurant and caf. In the bakery there we got lovely bread. From the Old Station you can also go on lovely walks - short or a bit longer just as you like. Full marks for everything ! ! Herbert Hide

The Old Chapel was absolutely beautiful. Wonderfully restored, with some original features (including the remaining gravestones in the immaculate, but useable garden). A real joy to be visited by rabbits, squirrels and cows came up to the fence in the next field. Hopefully, we will visit again.
