When you’re craving some home-cooked food, you can make the most of the facilities on offer in the kitchen/dining room – and pour yourself some drinks from the bar area. Also on the ground floor is a family shower room. When night falls, you can head up the stairs to the first floor where you’ll find a king-size bedroom, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom. Climb another set of steep cottage-style stairs to the second floor to discover an attic-style king-size bedroom. Finally, the small courtyard at the front of the cottage, complete with seating, is perfect for al fresco evenings.
Climb the famous 199 steps to Whitby Abbey (1.5 miles away) and enjoy sweeping views across the town – it is even said to have inspired the famous novel ‘Dracula’. For more history, take a stroll around the vibrant harbour where the great Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail. A little further away (5.5 miles), you can find yourself in the stunning village of Robin Hood’s Bay, famous for its fossil-filled beaches, smugglers’ shipwrecks and pirates!
