Escape to the North Yorkshire countryside with a small group of friends or family for a relaxing break in a sleek and contemporary converted barn with a sociable and bright open-plan living space boasting skylights, a warming wood burner and a stone feature wall. Spend your time exploring the North York Moors National Park and visiting the coast. And for larger parties, a second property sleeping four guests may also be available.
Step inside to find a ground-floor living area with a lounge/kitchen/diner. The one-wall kitchen is well organised and stylish with a pop of coastal colours and a contemporary wooden dining table with seating for six beside it. Put your feet up on the plump ‘L’-shaped sofa in front of the TV and open the large patio doors to let the fresh air roll in from the garden. Also on the ground floor are two family bathrooms, a study/single bedroom, a utility room and a snug with a wood burner and two sofas. On the first floor is a double room and a twin room. Outside is an Italian-style pebble courtyard with seating and a BBQ.
During your stay in the small village of Middleton, you’ll have a cafe, pub and shop within 0.5 miles. Visit the neighbouring town of Pickering (2 miles) for more dining options plus the 11th-century Pickering Castle and the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway where you can catch a steam train into the rugged moorlands of the nearby national park. Kids will love the Flamingo Land Resort (6.5 miles) and the North Riding Forest Park (9 miles) – where you can explore the cycling trails and play areas. Take a picnic to the Forge Valley Woods National Nature Reserve (15.5 miles) or spend a day at the beach in Scarborough (19.5 miles) or Robin Hood’s Bay (25.5 miles).
