The photos on the website of the cottage were a little bit misleading they showed the cottage to be bigger than what it was and also it looked very remote with no other houses around but there was houses very close. We chose the cottage for the remoteness.

Loverly little cottage. Some feedback would be improving the mattress on the bed as it was quite uncomfortable and noisy. The property seemed a little foisty until the place was completely heated through via the fire as the heaters didnt seem to heat up very much. Due to the heating situation the sofa felt a little damp.

Although the property location and interior layout were as expected. On arrival we found the property to be overly chilly with no alterable heating available (thermostat controlled remotely by the owner with a phone app, who was away from the property for the first few days). A wood burner was provided with a few logs which we used every night thouRead moregh this proved difficult to keep lit initially (we suspected the chimney needed sweeping because of the weak draw). We felt that the property contained the bare minimum for self catering, kitchen wise. A few other points: heavy sliding bathroom/toilet door which stuck frequently and hardly slid at all, paint peeling off the wall in the bathroom. Otherwise, the location was beautiful with many great walks available and the nearest village, Reeth, was great and the people very friendly and helpful.
