Spend some quality time with your beloved staying in this romantic c17th Grade 2 listed detached barn conversion, thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard,  in the picture-perfect village of Buckden. The reverse-level accommodation choice is sympathetically decked out to feature the original beams, wooden floorboards and exposed stonework of the converted barn, whilst also creating a comfortable and completely modern space to unwind. Sleeping two guests in a luxurious king-size bedroom, you’re invited to escape to this cosy bolthole after long days filled with Yorkshire Dales walks or day trips to exceptionally appealing local towns and villages. Your four-legged friend is also welcome to stay.

Take the external staircase up to the first floor and let yourself in. Here you’ll find a lovely lounge and a kitchen/diner just one step up, well laid out for sociable mornings and nights. A high vaulted ceiling and skylights ensure that both areas are flooded with natural light. Get cosy in the lounge with the Smart TV on after preparing and enjoying a delicious dinner. Take the original wooden staircase down onto the ground floor to find a handsome bedroom and a modern en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. An impressive floor-to-ceiling window acts as a statement bedroom feature, complete with barn doors that can be shut for additional privacy. You can also leave via patio doors here.

Cycle or drive along to Kilnsey (7 miles), a scenic village with a trout farm, café and farm shop, Malham (13.5 miles) with its exceptional beauty spots including Malham Cove and Janet’s Foss, or Skipton (18 miles), an ever-bustling market town with a canal and thrilling medieval castle.

We loved this property, quirky and well maintained. It was perfect base for us travelling with our dog, nice roomy lounge with kitchen dining area upstairs. Then downstairs the bedroom was super spacious, so peaceful, it had an extremely comfortable bed/bedding with a fabulous huge bathroom with lots of hot water, powerful shower with lovely smellRead moreing soft fluffy white towels. Parking just across the road from the property and was plenty big enough for our SUV. We walked pretty much everyday from the property (we were lucky with the weather) to some great pubs for lunches or dinner, a different one everyday which was amazing as was the great quality of customer service and standard of food! Would highly recommend Mullions Nook which is amazingly located to explore Upper Wharfedale well way marked routes or sit and read and chill as we did too. Hide

The cottage was not what we were expecting from the description. My husband is 6ft+. We were not aware that the ceiling heights would be so restrictive. The beam in the living area was low and the lintel that stretched across the bedroom resulted in him having to duck when he needed to access the en-suite. It wasn't possible to take advantage oRead moref the views from within the property. The small window at the front of the cottage simply looked across the lane, and the other light came from velux windows in the roof. Hide
