This contemporary apartment enjoys views across Whitby, the river, and the steam railway line. Sleeping four guests, the property is ideal for two couples or a small family looking to switch off and unwind on a coastal escape. Within 1 mile of the apartment is the town’s bustling harbour, sandy beaches, and fantastic array of independent shops and eateries. Heading inland, you’ll soon reach the remote landscapes of the North York Moors (approx. 2 miles).
The second-floor apartment is reached via stairs or lift from a shared entrance. Once inside, discover a bright and airy, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can prepare meals together and dine around the table. A vibrant corner sofa and cosy snuggle chair provide the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day, watching the Smart TV or admiring the tranquil views across the water. Completing the apartment are two inviting, beach-themed bedrooms and a family bathroom. The holiday home has a secure mooring spot on the estuary with an electric hook-up, less than 100 metres away.
The property is on the edge of Whitby’s old town, with its winding, cobbled streets and cute shops and boutiques. This is the perfect place to pick up a little souvenir from your trip, followed by lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants dotted throughout this part of town. From the old town, the iconic 199 steps lead to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, where you can soak up the history and admire the far-reaching views. There are some beautiful walks leading away from the town, including The Cleveland Way, which you can follow along the cliffs to the idyllic fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay (6 miles).
