This well-equipped space has everything you could need for preparing home-cooked meals with ease. Head through the archway to the lounge and make yourselves right at home on one of the sofas, arranged around the TV and cosy coal-effect gas fire, perfect for those chilly evenings. When night falls, climb the stairs to the first floor where you’ll find a twin bedroom and a family bathroom. Another set of stairs leads to the second floor where the double bedroom with en-suite shower room is located, with exceptional views over the harbour to St Mary’s Church. Outside, you’ll discover a private, enclosed patio down some steps – the perfect spot for drinking or dining alfresco.
Whitby Harbour, with its famous lighthouse and ancient swing bridge, is within half a mile of the cottage – treat yourself to an ice cream and watch the fishing boats drift by with their daily catch. Within the same distance, you’ll also be able to enjoy the soft sands of Whitby’s sweeping beach or ascend the 199 steps to the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey. Within 2 miles, you can also explore the North York Moors National Park with its myriad walking and cycling trails.
