This cottage is a fantastic base for couples and families looking to get away to explore the Yorkshire Dales with a range of easy and difficult walking trails right from your doorstep, including the circular Kettlewell Walk. Charming and characterful, the traditional stone building retains many of its original features with an iron spiral staircase and exposed stone walls creating a cosy space for relaxation at the end of the day.
At the heart of this home is the open-plan living room/diner, located on the first floor, which features a lovely window seat where you can sit and admire the beautiful local scenery. A wood burner ensures you’re warm and toasty all year around, whilst the comfortable sofas, armchairs and footstools offer a place to take the weight off your feet. One corner of the room is dedicated to the dining table seating four, perfect for family meals and board game evenings set beside the feature exposed stone wall. The chic country styling continues into the kitchen with pastel colours creating a calming space in which to cook up meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take the spiral staircase down to the ground floor to find the sleeping arrangements which include a delightful double bedroom and a king-size room which can be made up as a twin upon request. The larger room benefits from an en-suite shower room, whilst bedroom two has use of the family bathroom, including the comfortable bathtub. Just outside the front door is a quaint patio area with a table and chairs where you can sit to drink tea and eat cake soaking up the atmosphere.
Set 19 miles and 22 miles away respectively are two of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough, which offer challenges with great rewards. Avid walkers may like to take on the task of walking all three in one day over the 25-mile stretch of pathways ascending around 1,800 metres in total. For those in search of a more restful break, why not visit the vibrant market town of Hawes? From here, there are a number of pretty circular walks, as well as the Wensleydale Creamery, a must-visit for foodies.
