A really lovely apartment, nicely kept and well equipped. Great, funky decor, the beds are extremely comfortable and the view from the mezzanine bedroom is wonderful. The cottage has an excellent location with genuinely stunning sea views that are particularly atmospheric - this was definitely the highlight of our stay. The cottage is within a short walk of Whitby, and the beds were very comfortable. We also appreciated how warm the property was during our October visit. The modern smart TV with Netflix was a niRead morece touch and good quality. However, there were several issues that detracted from our experience. The parking is along the road in a line shared with other residents, and it's extremely tight - only suitable for a small car as the spaces overlap with neighbouring properties. Noise from the upstairs neighbours was a problem throughout our stay. Constant stomping and shouting at children made it difficult to relax in the property, and we were woken up every morning by the noise. The cleanliness was disappointing. There were makeup stains on both towels and bedding, kitchen utensils had chunks of food still on them, and there was a general feeling of grubbiness when you looked more closely. The cottage also needs maintenance attention - visible damp on the inside of the exterior walls in both the living room and second bedroom with paint peeling off, loose tiles in the shower, yellowing grout in the bathroom, and a loose toilet seat. We were also disappointed that the lounge furniture differs from the photos - the sofa, chairs, and table are all different, and the current table only has seating for 2 people, which isn't really suitable for a property that accommodates 4. The location and views are wonderful, but the property needs proper cleaning and some TLC before I could recommend it wholeheartedly. Hide

Excellent property for a week away everything you need plus beds that have the best mattresses for comfort. My daughter enjoyed the bath (she only has a shower facility where she lives). The views are terrific, and the parking spot a bonus. Plenty of places in walking distance to eat out (we ran out of time to try them all), we only had breakfasts Read morein the property. All in all a comfortable place to recover after sightseeing and taking in the coastal air. Hide

I had a five day trip to Whitby with my daughter and my dog and we had a lovely time. The house was just what we needed, there is a beautiful view out onto the sea that can be seen from both bedrooms and it was only a short walk along the beach to get into Whitby proper so we could just park our car in the homes designated spot and leave it there. Read more We had an issue with the hot water going off and the owner was very friendly on the phone about it and got someone out immediately which was great. It turned out the boilers pressure had just dropped because it had not needed to be on during the summer. One thing to be aware of is the bathroom is in the middle of the house and therefore had no windows to open so the air can get stale. Also, the floorboards do creak so, if youre a light sleeper, someone moving about in the middle of the night would probably wake you. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay, we would highly recommend it and would happily visit again. Hide

We stayed for 2 nights and found the property not only perfect for our needs but exactly as advertised on the website. It was clean and comfortable it was well situated, close enough to walk to but far enough away from the bustle of the town. The parking space made the stay so much easier

The benefit of the apartment is the parking, really good to know you have a space when it's busy everywhere else. Nice high ceilings in the lounge, beds very comfy! Good location and lovely sea views.

Poor cleanliness marred the holiday. After we bought our own shower gel and toilet roll, I cleaned parts of the bathroom before we could use them. The crack in the bathroom wash basin is easily repaired, but remains unsightly and unhygienic. There is also a smell from the drains which is pervasive, at times. Not a pleasant place to stay.

Nice little get away, location was good, and the best thing was that it had it's own parking space. It did not matter to us as we visited in December, but it will be essential in the summer months. It is OK for a couple of days, for a couple of people, but I would not recommend that 4 people would fit in this apartment comfortably, and there was nRead moreo washing machine. Hide
