This spacious holiday home enjoys an idyllic setting, 2 miles from the village of Nateby. Sleeping eight guests, it’s the perfect retreat for families and groups of friends who love getting out and about in nature. The cottage, in the Westmorland Dales, a part of and nestled between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines with the Northern Lakes close at hand. The surrounding area is awash with footpaths, bridleways, and quiet country lanes to explore. Climb to the summit of Wild Boar Fell for panoramic views, take a waterside stroll along the banks of the River Eden, or join one of the nearby long-distance trails such as the Coast to Coast Walk. Soak up the local history at Pendragon Castle (less than 1 mile) or Brough Castle, or head west to explore the breathtaking Lake District National Park; Kendal is 26 miles away and you can reach Windermere in just over 30 miles. For shopping and eating out, the bustling market town of Kirkby Stephen is 5 miles away.

The detached cottage, adjacent to a working farm, enjoys a rural setting with far-reaching views across open fields to the distant fells. The holiday home is full of character, with fabulous features including exposed beams and recessed windows alongside traditional country-cottage furniture and a calming colour palette. Enter the property into the spacious kitchen/diner with its flagstone floor (with cosy underfloor heating), beamed ceiling, and stone worktops. Here, you’ll find all the equipment needed to cater for a large group, and a choice of dining areas at a sleek breakfast bar or farmhouse-style dining table. In the evenings, gather in the lounge for a movie night in front of the Smart TV and roaring wood burner, or retreat to the snug (via a couple of steps) with a glass of wine and your holiday read. A stylish shower room with underfloor heating rounds off the ground floor. Upstairs, off a split-level landing, you’ll find four relaxing bedrooms, all boasting vaulted ceilings and tranquil rural views. Choose from a king-size, a double, or two twin bedrooms. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is also a refreshing family bathroom on this level.

Outside, an enclosed, split-level garden surrounded by a drystone wall envelops the property. The garden, which enjoys fantastic views of the fells, is laid to lawn and has a picnic bench for al fresco dining in summer months. There is private parking available for three cars on the driveway (please do not park in the farm yard).
